Where Horror Lives — The Inspiration Behind "Whispers of the Forgotten House"

Every story starts somewhere.

For me, "Whispers of the Forgotten House" began with a question: What if the things we bury don't stay buried?

I grew up hearing stories about old houses—places people avoided, places with secrets. In my hometown, there was always that one house everyone whispered about. The one children crossed the street to avoid. The one adults spoke of in hushed tones.

I never knew if the stories were true. But that didn't matter. What mattered was the feeling—the weight of a place that remembers things we'd rather forget.

In this story, I wanted to explore more than just ghosts. I wanted to explore guilt. The guilt we carry for things we didn't do. The guilt we carry for the people we failed. Because sometimes, the most haunting spirits aren't the ones that haunt us from outside.

They're the ones we carry inside.

If you've read "Whispers of the Forgotten House," I'd love to hear your thoughts. And if you haven't—well, I hope it lingers with you.
